pair of mallards decided to set up housekeeping in my roses. |
Pop
strutted around for the first day and then disappeared. |

was gone during the day for a week or so, but returned at night. |

counted eight eggs in the nest, but I think that there were more. |
Finally,
mom sat for the better part of two weeks... |

she was "sprayed" by this character and forced to abandon the nest. |
There
were lots of birds, like this bluejay, at the feeder |
And
a mother squirrel managed to get in there as well. |

| A couple of
my rose bushes have "gone wild." They produced nothing last year ... |
... but they
had plenty of roses this year. Good thing I didn't yank them out last Fall. |
